In September a very deep barometric low affected Greece gradually between the 18th and the 20th of month.
The very strong gale force winds caused a lot of damages mainly close to the coastlines.
The main characteristic was the long lasting intense rainfalls and thunderstorms which recorded over south Ionion, locally over central mainland ( mainly in Karditsa, in Fthiotida and in Magnesia) and over West Crete as well.
Specifically in Karditsa four human lives were lost due to ruinous floods. ..
